All part of His plan..........

Good Morning all..............
Well as you all know... Ken had gone into a relapse back in November of last year. He spent 30 days in the hospital undergoing a round of chemo to get him back into remission. As of right now he is still in remission and starting the process of getting ready for a bone marrow transplant.
They have tested his two brothers and neither one were a match.... so we now wait for one to be found on the donor registry.
Anyway..... wanted to share the update with you all.......................

Here is what Ken wrote on his Caringbridge site.........

Hi All,

Well the tests have been done and neither of my brothers is a match. While that is very disappointing its not the end of my process, it just means we have to go the "unrelated" donor route. Since the unrelated donor route can take up to 2 months to find a donor and get the transplant scheduled, I will have to go through a maintenance round of chemo. We want to try to make sure I don't have a relapse before the transplant can be done. I just learned this all today, so I have no schedule yet as to when the chemo will be done or what drugs I will receive. I am hoping it can be done outpatient like my consolidation therapy.

I feel great, I am up for all that needs to be done to get me to and through the transplant.

GOD's plan apparently is for someone out there to be blessed with the chance to save my life. I feel blessed that there is even that opportunity for them,

So........... if you would............ prayers would be appreciated as we wait for a match for Ken to be found!
God wont let us down................ He's been with us every step of the way with all of this. We just need to be patient in His plan!

District Wrestling Tournament................

Wow................ What a weekend!!!! The whole team...parents and wrestlers were worn out! The emotions were high.... the boys fought hard and the parents were nervous wrecks!

Patrick didnt make it to State this year... but he sure gave it his best shot! I am so very proud of him!!! He showed a determination that was just amazing!!! I've said it before and will say it again........ Wrestling is the hardest sport there is.... both emotionally and physically!

Six of our boys made it to State!!! Our Wrestlers ROCK! Congratulations guys!!! You did good!

Freebie Friday..........

Java-Glazed Cinnamon Rolls

1 can (17.5 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® refrigerated cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing (5 rolls)
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon instant coffee granules or crystals
1/2 cup Hershey’s® premier white baking chips
1/2 cup Fisher® Chef's Naturals® Chopped Pecans

DIRECTIONS
1 Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 9-inch round cake pan with Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray. Place cinnamon rolls in pan; reserve icing. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly.

2 Meanwhile, in small microwavable bowl, microwave 1 tablespoon of the milk uncovered on High about 20 seconds or until hot; stir in coffee granules until completely dissolved. Stir in reserved icing. Microwave uncovered on High 25 seconds. Stir in baking chips and remaining 1 tablespoon milk. Microwave 25 seconds longer; stir until chips are completely melted. (Microwave in additional 10-second increments, if necessary, until chips are melted.)

3 Stir pecans into icing mixture. Pour over rolls. Serve warm

A long day.................

for Ken.
He started his day by dropping of the boys at school... then he's heading over to the hospital for his daily IV drip ... then off to another hospital for a long day of tests... consults... and appointments.

His brothers will be tested today... the blood work is being sent here to see if we have a match for Ken.

So................... If you all wouldn't mind............. our family could use some extra prayers today.
Pray that all the tests and such Ken is going through will come out good... and that one of his brothers is a good donor match!!!

Amazing group of kids.........

Look at what our kids in our school/community did.........................................

All proceeds will go to the Carlton Family to offset medical expenses. Winner will be announced at the end of half time of the Varsity Boys Basketball game at the High School. To purchase tickets contact Coach Schroeder. Tickets will also be sold at the Basketball games that evening. MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN

1st Place ~ ECNC Tournament..........

What an amazing night! Despite the fact that we were all packed in there like sardines and at times struggled to see our boys wrestling due to the mat arrangement.......... You could still here our parents/fans cheering for our boys! And they did NOT disappoint us!
These boys earned and deserved their 1st place trophy!
They won this Conference with a nice lead in points!!!!
