David's fun and adventures......

Last night Patrick got to be a teacher. It was rather neat to watch him and his dad teach about a dozen boys ranging in ages of 5 to 13 or so.... how to pitch. Patrick as a bit nervous at first... but after Ken broke the ice with basics... Patrick was right in there teaching and helping! Michael took his catching gear and at the very end of "class" the boys got to go out on the field and do some live practice by pitching to Michael. It was awesome! I'm so proud of my boys! (yes... Ken included) It was a neat experience for both all of us.. and the boys and coaches that came.

Anyway.................. on to the title of this post!
While Ken... Patrick and Michael were busy.... David spent his time looking for bugs .... playing a bit and being creative.

So.....................this isnt a bug... but this little fella was sittin' in the grass just chillin' out... so David snapped a few photos... and sat and talked to him for a while.
Then............ he did find a bug............ this beautiful moth. Yep... snapped some photos... and sat and watched for a bit.

Then on to being creative later................... David had taken a bunch of stuffed animal monkeys to play with................. and this is what he did with them. Oh My.... heheheeheheheheee

yep.................... I have one fun family! :)

Beetle Book Mark.............

This is my newest design in my collection of Book Thongs or Book Marks.
My little David asked me last night if I could make him a bookmark... Well... sure I could. I asked if he wanted a paper style one or a crocheted one... he said... "crocheted please... and make it a bug" Okie dokie... no pressure here. hehehehheeee.
So this morning I get up... and while everyone is still sleeping .. came up with this little creature.
David LOVES it! *whew*

So... I have another pattern to add to the list to write up. *oh boy*

Make a difference Monday............

Jesus asked all of us who believe to, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven" (Matt. 5:16).

Little ways that you can Make a Difference could be:

*Buying someone a cup of coffee in line behind you at Starbucks
*Visit an elderly person, especially one who has lost a spouse. Bring them a stuffed animal.
*Buying someone lunch in line behind you at the drive thru
*Writing someone an encouraging note
*Shoveling your neighbor's driveway
*Buying someone some groceries
*Sending a friend a card
*Picking up the tab for someone in a restaurant
*Watching your neighbor's kids while they go out
*Baking some cookies and taking them to work…

The possibilities are endless! And remember… "Little things don't mean a lot, they mean EVERYTHING!"
Go Make A Difference! K-love

I'm so spoiled.................

(.
((..
(((... SSSQQQqqquuueeeAAALLL.................its me... its me... its me.................

You see... over on the 'ville there is a thread for Give-a-ways. Thats where we get to post gifts we would like to surprise someone with. Some already know who is getting the gift before they post the gift.... some wait for posts of folks to get a list of the ones interested ..... then have a drawing for the winner. This particular give-a-way was for a hand made wood pen.

Well..............................
The postal lady brought the box to the door this morning.... I though oh... cool... love boxes of love. Now mind you... the box was too big for a pen... so not even on my mind. I open it... its filled with yo-yo's for my charity collection.... and a lovely note. I'm reading along and what? bottom of the box? something else? I actually squealed out loud!
Dorothy.................... I love you!
Thank you for the most awesome gift!
The yo-yo's were a joy to see.. .but I have to say... that pen is outstanding ... and a serious treasure!!! Its safely tucked away in my crochet bag. Its offically my "crochet pen" for writting patterns... jotting notes and filling out cards to send to others!

I'm one lucky lady.

When the Frost is on the Punkin

By James Whitcomb Riley 1849–1916

When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock,
And you hear the kyouck and gobble of the struttin’ turkey-cock,
And the clackin’ of the guineys, and the cluckin’ of the hens,
And the rooster’s hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it’s then’s the times a feller is a-feelin’ at his best,
With the risin’ sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.
They’s something kindo’ harty-like about the atmusfere
When the heat of summer’s over and the coolin’ fall is here—
Of course we miss the flowers, and the blossums on the trees,
And the mumble of the hummin’-birds and buzzin’ of the bees;
But the air’s so appetizin’; and the landscape through the haze
Of a crisp and sunny morning of the airly autumn days
Is a pictur’ that no painter has the colorin’ to mock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock.
The husky, rusty russel of the tossels of the corn,
And the raspin’ of the tangled leaves, as golden as the morn;
The stubble in the furries—kindo’ lonesome-like, but still
A-preachin’ sermuns to us of the barns they growed to fill;
The strawstack in the medder, and the reaper in the shed;
The hosses in theyr stalls below—the clover over-head!—
O, it sets my hart a-clickin’ like the tickin’ of a clock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!
Then your apples all is gethered, and the ones a feller keeps
Is poured around the celler-floor in red and yeller heaps;
And your cider-makin’ ’s over, and your wimmern-folks is through
With their mince and apple-butter, and theyr souse and saussage, too! ...
I don’t know how to tell it—but ef sich a thing could be
As the Angels wantin’ boardin’, and they’d call around on me—
I’d want to ’commodate ’em—all the whole-indurin’ flock—
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!

Our capitalistic society is geared toward one purpose…people accumulating wealth. While there is nothing wrong with material abundance, many Christians today have lost sight of why God has blessed them with prosperity.
They believe it is for their own good and benefit, but God's perspective is quite different. For example, here is what the writer of Hebrews tells us in Hebrews 13:16,

But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Now the phrase "to share" means to share with others. One translation says, Share what you have. Another version translates this, Be generous. Another says, Contribute to the needy.
You see, God blesses us to make us a blessing! That ought to be the main motivation for desiring and praying for God's blessing in our lives. God told Abraham, "I'm going to bless you, and you will be a blessing." God says the fringe benefit is that, "I will give you richly all things to enjoy."

But the main flow of God's purpose in blessing us is so we can help other people.
It is also the reason we should desire the inheritance that Christ has given to us, all of those Holy Spirit-conferred blessings, Why? Because we can't give what we don't have. You can't bless someone if you don't have anything to bless them with!
God is well pleased to see us walk in our inheritance as sons, but He is also well pleased to see us share what He has blessed us with.

From the hands of my youngest...........

Yep............ my (soon to be) 11yr. old made these.
There in front is a coaster he crocheted for me! Its a piece of toast with jelly! :) He said because all I drink is coffee... toast would go great with it! I believe he's right!
The cute little item with crayons on it ..... is a little crayon keeper.
This crayon keeper/tote... is made of plastic canvas and yarn. My grandfather use to make tons of these with the help of my Aunt. David has one that is seeing its years... and asked if he could make a new one. Of course I thought it would be a fun thing for him to do............ so off to my drawer to get some canvas... and into my yarn stash he went to find just what he needed.

Yep.............. he did it! Recreated the cute little crayon keeper his Great Grandfather once made! I LOVE IT! He would like to keep making more.... thinks they might make nice gifts! :)

Sharing.................

Tote for a fellow baseball mom!

Have you shared God with anyone lately?
Its really simple!!! Send someone a bouquet of flowers that you haven’t talked to in some time. Buy a little snack at the register and hand it to the sweet little child in line behind you as you leave. Put a quarter in the gum/toy machine or car ride at the store entrance for that little one just sitting there wishing they could get that little trinket or ride that ride.
Bring a coffee to your boss or secretary one morning as you go into work. Mow the neighbors yard the next time you mow your own. Wash your neighbors car next time you wash yours.
Those all seem pretty simple…. Don’t they?
Funny though… God does all those simple things for each and everyone one of us EVERYDAY. But he does all this after doing the most giving thing he could do. Giving His life for us.
I’ve said this before… we make spending time with God or sharing God with others … much harder than it really is!!!
So today… Share God with one person… you may find it pretty rewarding.

Hugs … love and blessings!!!

Singing in the rain..............

·´¯`·.´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸Good Morning¸.·´¯`·.´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸

Anyone can sing in the sunshine. You and I should sing on when the sun has gone down or when the clouds pour out their rain, for Christ is with us.
**Do you find yourself setting your mood for the day on how it starts? Or do you start your day with a Smile on your face … a song in your heart…. A prayer of thanks to your Lord and watch your day fall into place as it was already planned out. Why do we so many times forget to start our day with God. And why do we make it more than it needs to be. If you are one to have some time with God every morning … in His Word…. In prayer and such…. That’s wonderful. But what if you are one that doesn’t really do that… and you make excuses of being in a hurry… or you forgot… or its too hard to do that… or ..Its not me… I don’t do morning prayer … or or or
Why has it become harder to us than it really needs to be. And when did we become too busy for God. My goodness… when your kids wake up… or your spouse… do you not say “Good Morning” to them? Why do we then walk right past God and not say Good Morning to Him.… he gave us the morning in the first place.
I think a simple “Good Morning Father… thank you for such a beautiful new day” would do just fine! Start your day with HIM… see your day through His eyes… and watch what He does with your day!!!

huge hugs… lots of love and bountiful blessings,
