Freebie Friday.........

::: (\_(\
*: (=’ :’) :*
•.. (,(”)(”)¤°.¸¸.•´¯`» Good Morning •¨¯`•
Hope all is well with everyone!  We're busy getting ready for Christmas!
Today will be errand day and gift shopping.... tomorrow...an all day wrestling meet...Sunday..family day....getting tons done around the house!

Today's Freebie is going to be a tutorial for the slippers I've been making lately!  I've had a few ladies not understand the written instruction completely.. so thought I would put out a few pictures to help.

This is the 8th pair of slippers I've made since last month!
I anticipate making many many more next year!!!
Pattern can be found HERE

This is the beginning of the toe.  (bad lighting... sorry!)

This is the beginning of the foot part

And now we have the part that seems to cause an issue for some... the heel
the pattern says............. ch 11

The pattern reads like this....
Row 1: Using both loops, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next  9 ch; sc in each of next 20 (25 - 25) sc; sc in each ch on opposite side of beg ch; ch 1, turn.

You will sc down one side of the ch 11 .... around the foot.... and back up the other side of the ch11

And now in back loop only you will turn and sc back down to the foot... around and back up.... it will start to look like this............

work in this manner for  the rows required for the size you're  making......

Coming to the end ..... slip stitching it close...... and you're done.

And there ya go............ make a second one and now you have a wonderful pair of slippers to keep your feet warm!!!
I sure hope this helped.  If you have more questions... please ask.. I'd be happy to answer them!
Off to get my boys movin' for the day!
Its biscuits and gravy morning at school.... YUM!!!
Have a wonderfully blessed day!!

Freebie Friday.....................

CEREAL BOX ... MAGAZINE HOLDER

Okay kids...............here we go.........
This really fun way to recycle...........

Supplies are:
Cereal box... or any box you want to use for a book/magazine holder
Scissors
Ruler
Pen

Turn box on its side... messure up 5 inches......mark with pen....

Due to wanting to keep the 'box top' on this particular box.. I created my slant under it.

Draw your line from the side mark to the top at an angle like this.............. dont forget to mark both sides.

Time for cutting................cut all along the markings to create your holder.

And see............... saved that 'box top' :)

Tah Dah...................... holds magazines Great!

Now... at this point... you can leave the cereal box as is.... or cover it with wrapping paper... scrapbook paper.... or contact paper.

For kids rooms.... it might be fun to just leave the cereal boxes as is.......... :) Imagine a shelf full of fun cereal box magazine holders. <3

Thanks for stoppin' in..........

have a fantastic Friday... and a wonderful weekend!

God Bless

Freebie Friday................

This is a simple tutorial on how to make a .....

Dishcloth Bouquet in a Cup.

Your supplies are:

Cup
Cotton yarn ( green for the leaves... then whatever other colors you like for the flowers)
Crochet hook ( I used a size I)
Any round / flowery dishcloth pattern.
Start by making one solid green cloth for the leaves.
Create a few flower dishcloths in any color you chose. I'm making a Bouquet of solid flower cloths here. In a previous post you can see a bouquet I made with variegated yarn. You can use the same pattern... or use a different pattern for each cloth.

Place green cloth in cup ... pushing it down a bit leaving just the edges hanging out.

Each flower is rolled this same way. Fold in half...............

Start on one end and start rolling to the other end.........

Until you have this cone shape.

Place your 'flower' in the cup and roll the other cloths.

Once all the 'flowers' are in the cup... fluff them a bit and you are DONE!
Tah Dah.... a Dishcloth Bouquet! Great for gift giving!

have a great day and thanks for stoppin' by...
hugs... love & blessings

Freebie Tip for Friday........

Here is a neat little tip from me to you... for making the connecting corner of a Granny Square nice and square.
Here you see I have already 4 rounds on my granny square.
pretending this is the very beginning connection.
This is how I formed my corners..........
hdc into the top of the ch 3

like so.......

ch 3......

2 dc into the hdc corner you created...

ch 1 ... 3 dc in next ch 1 spot... continuing around

and we are now back at the connecting corner.
hdc in the top of the ch 3
ch 3 ... 2dc in the hdc corner
ch 1 ... 3dc in next ch 1 space.. and so on!
enjoy

hugs..........love......... blessings.......

Freebie Friday........

How to roll a center pull ball of yarn........

1) You will need a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll... and a skein of yarn. (new or used)
2) Fold the paper tube of your choice in half and in half again to get this look......
3) Place the end of the yarn in the crease of the paper tube like this......
4) Fold the tube in half holding the end inside the crease and start rolling your yarn around the outside of the paper tube.
5) continue to just roll a simple ball to create a good base for your center...
6) This is where the creation begins... start to roll the yarn in a winding motion bottom to top of your center ball...
7) As you do this ... roll the paper tube in your hand so that you continue to wind the yarn around the entire outside of your ball.......
8) continue to roll the tube in your hand as you wind the yarn...

9) lookin' good.......
10) almost done.......
11) Woo Hoo... you made it to the end...... now its time to tuck in that tail.
12) I use a handy dandy crochet hook to tuck in the tail........ slip the hook under a bunch of wraps.... grab the tail.........

13) and pull ........... tah dah.

14) Now to take the paper tube out .............. reach in and grab the beginning tail of your yarn that is inside the crease of the tube.... hold it with your thumb as you grip the yarn ball so not to have you initial windings come out of the center as you remove the tube. With you other hand... pull tube gently out ... wiggling it a touch if need be.. depending on how tight you wound the ball.

pull........................and ....................

15) Done!!!

16) You now have a nice and neat center pull ball of yarn to tuck away with other yarns and it not unroll or tangle. And when your ready to use it........ you wont have to chase it across the room like other yarn balls. *whew*

Have a Fantastic Friday...... and a Wonderful Weekend!
God's Blessings to you all!
