Freebie Friday...

Magic Hotpad........

Yarn: Peaches & Cream Cotton

Skill Level:
Hook size: I. -  5.5mm

ch 31
Sc in 2nd ch from hook crochet through one side of the chain. Turn corner and sc through other side of chain back to the beginning.

Sc through each sc all the way around- around and around

The two corners will start to curl - don't worry - as they should.

This is what it will look like as you keep crocheting around and around.

Crochet until you can fold the potholder so that the top edges touch. It looks like you may be there. Let's check...

**Optional Hanging Loop
Once you get to the corner, you can add a hanging loop if you want.
Chain 10, then slip stitch into the base of the chain. Now just continue along with the rest of the pattern!**

Yep! Time to finish off, leaving a tail 2 times the length of the seam

I didn’t do this for mine, but here’s what you do.

Chain 10, then slip stitch into the base of the chain. Now just continue along with the rest of the pattern!
Sew up the seam. Go through blo on both sides. Back and forth right to left.  Left to right
There you have it - Like magic...... a hotpad!
Another note! Once you understand this pattern, you can make these in any size! Follow the same formula, but increase your starting chain! By making it bigger, you can make yourself a bigger potholder

Courage...

Do not be frightened or worried:
for I am your God and I'm always beside you.

Be determined and confident:
since you are mine I will always support you.

I am the God of love who moves on gently:
leading you, drawing you into all that is new and lovely.

All you need is available now:
let me carry you and bear you along in safety.

I am the Lord of love who comes to you in quietness:
there's no need for struggle or panic,

for I died for you in the cruelty of torture:
how can I let you suffer alone?

I am the Spirit of love to direct you tenderly:
I hold your hand and I will not hurry you.

We will go on together into tomorrow:
for I am with you and I won't let you go.

Be not afraid for I am with you:
I shall never abandon you wherever you may fall.

Only be strong and very courageous:
for you are mine and I will always love you.

God Bless,

Fear & Lies.....

Avoid fear, for fear is the consequence of every lie.

There are lies everywhere. Blinking neon lights, and sweetly penned secrets. A movie. A sermon. A Day after thanksgiving sale. How quickly we forget that the things we hear and see are making an impression. Like an empty place in the bed where a body used to lay, they’re wrapped up in the sheets, but they don’t need the rest. They can come without warning and talk for hours without a sound. Lies tell the future, insist on interpreting the past, and seem to always keep us paralyzed to the present. They can fill a closet with skeletons and invite monsters under the bed. Lies are strangers in friends clothing and fill your house when you’re alone.

The inevitable, unstoppable result of listening to something other than the truth. Cousins, sisters, brothers, parents possible even spouses perhaps? I’m not exactly sure the relation but I know that its a tie that binds. Feed one, and you nourish the other. Nurture a lie, and watch the panic grow. Forget the truth and welcome anxiety. Give up on hope, and welcome misery with open arms.

So then it should comes as no surprisethat the most recurrent command in all the Bible is this:“Do not be afraid.”Easy enough right? Well maybe it could be, but I don’t think we’ll ever live free of fear as long as fear itself is our problem. Fear is the consequence of a lie, Which means, if I find in myself some irrisistible anxiety, chances are, I’ve welcomed a lie into my heart. And maybe I didn’t exactly welcome it. Maybe I just forgot to close the door on some memory or I left the window cracked, but whatever the reason, if the lie has crept in somewhere, and has made its home where my faith has worn through, I must recognize it for what it is.

It should also come as no surprise then, that the work of God is belief. “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one whom He has sent.” Do we understand that fear isn’t something that we are meant to live with? Do we have any idea how free we would be if we could just believe? And trust me, I know. It’s not easy. In fact, its the hardest work any of us will ever have to do, but its the war we were meant for. Since we’re grafted into Israel as Romans says, that means we’re brought in to “wrestle with God,”for that is exactly what Israel means. So we fight to rest. We work to stop working. We war for peace. We run to stand still. Life is waiting for the ones who lose control. “taking captive every thought, and making it obedient to Christ Jesus.” Take captive? Yeah. Take it freaking captive. Smack that lie in the mouth and slaughter it with the Truth!!!

NACHO NIGHT....around the world........

Michael is officially off the prednizone. He took his last dose a couple days ago. He is now working his road to remission!!!

As celebration........ we are having homemade Nachos for dinner tonight. Michael has been in a relapse for over a year now... and due to the very low sodium diet.. has not been able to enjoy many of his favorite foods.... Nacho's being one of them. So tonight......... we are having a Nacho Party! (shhh... dont tell Michael........but I did choose the ingredients carefully so to not over due the sodium too soon) :)

Thank you to everyone that has sent love ... prayers and encouragement to Michael and myself. It has meant more than I can express!

There are several wonderful ladies from a crochet yahoo group I'm part of that are celebrating along with us tonight by having Nacho's for dinner at their homes.... Michael said this is going to be the biggest Nacho Party ever............... hehehe.
Please join us if you can.............. get out some chips and cheese and celebrate with us! Michael would love it!
I'll post pictures tomorrow of our Nacho spread and Michael enjoying is first bite of 'freedom'

Thank you again EVERYONE!

God Bless

The 7 Ups.......

1. Wake Up !!
Decide to have a good day.'This is the day the Lord hath made;let us rejoice and be glad in it.' Psalms 118:24

2. Dress Up !!
The best way to dress up is to put on a smile.A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. 'The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'I Samuel 16:7

3. Shut Up!!
Say nice things and learn to listen.God gave us two ears and one mouth,so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking.'He who guards his lips guards his soul.' Proverbs 13:3

4. Stand Up!!
. . . for what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything. 'Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time,we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good...'Galatians 6:9-10

5. Look Up !!
. . to the Lord.'I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me'. Philippians 4:13

6. Reach Up !!
. . for something higher.'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.' Proverbs 3:5-6

7. Lift Up !!
. . your Prayers. 'Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING.' Philippians 4:6

A POSITIVE THOUGHT
If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.If He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring, and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He could live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart. What about the Christmas gift He sent you in Bethlehem ;not to mention that Friday at Calvary.

Face it, He's crazy about you. I thought this was mighty special, just like YOU.Pass this on and brighten someone's day, and remember . ...

God answers Knee-Mail!
