Hook size: I. - 5.5mm
ch 31
Sc in 2nd ch from hook crochet through one side of the chain. Turn corner and sc through other side of chain back to the beginning.
Sc through each sc all the way around- around and around

The two corners will start to curl - don't worry - as they should.

This is what it will look like as you keep crocheting around and around.

Crochet until you can fold the potholder so that the top edges touch. It looks like you may be there. Let's check...
**Optional Hanging Loop
Once you get to the corner, you can add a hanging loop if you want.
Chain 10, then slip stitch into the base of the chain. Now just continue along with the rest of the pattern!**
Yep! Time to finish off, leaving a tail 2 times the length of the seam
I didn’t do this for mine, but here’s what you do.
Chain 10, then slip stitch into the base of the chain. Now just continue along with the rest of the pattern!
Sew up the seam. Go through blo on both sides. Back and forth right to left. Left to right
There you have it - Like magic...... a hotpad!
Another note! Once you understand this pattern, you can make these in any size! Follow the same formula, but increase your starting chain! By making it bigger, you can make yourself a bigger potholderGod Bless,

Very cool. Thanks for the instructions
I like to add a chain 15 or so loop on the final "round" before I finish off and sew it up.... ;)
You're welcome Shelley!
