Granny Tote Bag.... **Free Pattern**

Granny Tote Bag
front
back
Hook size – I
Yarn - Red Heart Super Saver
Granny square size – 7 to 8”

This particular tote was made with a “Daisy Flower Charity Square” by
KrochetKrystal.

I first created the Daisy Square… then made a solid granny square of the same size.
Bordered them both with dc in a variegated yarn that was to be the sides, bottom and handle of the tote.
Place the granny squares right sides together … single crochet them together using variegated yarn…starting in one top corner …down to the bottom… across the bottom … back up the other side to the top. Turn bag right side out…
ch 3 …dc in ea st…one row around top….join to ch 3 with sl st….
ch 2… hdc in next 7 dc…. ch 15 … sk next 15 dc
hdc in next 14 dc…. ch 15…. sk next 15 dc
hdc in last 7 dc… join with sl st to top of ch 2
**ch 2 … hdc in 7 hdc…. dc in ea 15 ch st…. hdc in next 14 hdc… dc in ea 15 ch st… hdc in last 7 hdc… join with sl st to top of ch 2**
Repeat from ** to ** tie off.
Join contrasting color with sl st in last st of variegated color…
ch 1… sc in ea st around … join with sl st in ch 1… tie off…. Weave in ends.
**Join with another contrasting color in any st of inside handle with sc…
ch 1… sc in each st around … join with sl st in ch 1… tie off.. weave in ends.**
**Repeat for other handle inside.

Hope I wrote this correctly. Thank you Krystal for the lovely Daisy Square ... its rather special!
I made this tote for my little Michael to give to a little 4 yr old girl that is in the hospital on dialysis waiting a kidney transplant. She has advanced stages of Nephrotic Syndrome.
Have a wonderful evening.............. may you be blessed beyond your wants or needs!

Finishing up a baby gift............

in between working on my mom's comfortgan.
I made this beanie to go with a blanket I made.... for a friend having a baby here in the next few weeks. I used the wonderful 'Daisy Flower Charity Square' pattern by Krystal to create the top of the beanie. Yarn is Caron Simply Soft ... hook size G. I love how it came out. I have another project in the works using Krystals Daisy.

Well... thats it for this quick blog. I'm off to get a refill on my coffee... work a bit on some of mom's squares... sizing them all out..... Then off to run a few errands and back home to spend my evening working more on mom's 'ghan. I'll update later today or tomorrow with pics!

Mom's Comfortghan... part II

Today... I got the ball rolling with getting my mommy's 'ghan put together. I spent time today taking pictures of each persons squares in separate pics.. so that I can make a small photo album for my mom that she can look through and see where each square came from. I labeled all the pictures from one of my graphic programs. I then started laying them out in different patterns to get an idea of what I was working with. I will probably do that a time or two more before I really make my final decision on how it should lay. As of now... I have this lovely pile to work with... the yarn that will connect them all.... and my camera ready to take as many step-by-step pics as I can.... in order to create a feeling for the ladies that sent to me... that they are putting it together with me. I'm so very excited to get this done for my mom. I have a goal of Mother's Day of getting it done and to her. 'Ghan and photo album.

Mom's Comfortghan... part I
In a time of need... I reached out to a group of ladies asking for donations of comfortghan squares to make a blanket for my mommy ... who recently lots her furry best friend to an unexpected death. The response was GREAT! I left it all in God's hands and He Blessed me beyond my imagination! I received squares from all around! The colors are perfect... the designs are outstanding ... and the love behind them is precious!
I cant thank the ladies on Crochetville that sent me squares... enough! This is going to be one awesome 'ghan!
Hugs... love and Blessings,

Need Prayers........

for my 9yr old.
For any of you that keep up with me... I know I seem to ask for this alot… but my little Michael has a cold… YES AGAIN!
Since he has been diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome … he has caught colds very easily. (due to his low immune system)
Well… his protein levels are slowing rising and for some of you that may have heard my previous cries for prayers on this before.... would know… that this is not a good thing for him.
So if you would please…. Keep Michael in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you and God Bless each one of you!!!

Relaxin' on a Saturday.............

Praise God what a wonderful Saturday!!! Sun shinning so bright today... air is warm... birds chirping with such a happy song in their hearts first thing this morning... and just the feel of blessings all around!
Spending my day relaxing working on some charity squares. Getting pictures taken of finished items.... and packaging up some of the squares to be sent out on Monday.... to fulfill my commitments.... along with a few gifts that I made for friends and family!!!
Such a shame.... today is so beautiful... and I have to struggle through the day with a huge headache. Now all that know me ... know that I live with headaches everyday... some days worse than others... but everyday just the same. But I tell ya... sure does put a damper on enjoying a lovely day like today... when you have to fight a headache. Sheeeeesh!
The thing I do know without a doubt... is that one day ... my God will deliver me from these headaches.... as soon as I let go of whatever is keeping them here. I haven't been faced with what it is that I am holding on to .... in order for me to forgive myself over or to forgive someone else over .... but it will happen. My faith in Him will stay strong and He will free me. In the mean time.... I will enjoy beautiful days.. the best I can.. and love my family and friends as much as I can. With that ... I will craft til I cant craft anymore!!!

Well..... lets see............... speaking of crafts.... here is another Duct Tape bag... with a cell phone case and a Duct Tape rose that I made to put out at my daddy's grave sight. You see.. daddy loved to craft also... and he was my biggest supporter of my crafting ... dreams... and well....... anything I did! So I knew he would appreciate a Rose made by me from Duct Tape! :)
These are cards and such made from a Rubber Stamping "Pajama Rama Slumber Party" My mom... sis-in-law and myself went... stayed up all night... (nope.. not one wink of sleep) and made tons of cards and things and had a Blast!!!
These are 12" squares made for a fellow 'viller for a comfortghan she is making.
These are 8" squares also made for a fellow 'viller for a comfortghan.
These are 8" squares I made for my daughter. She is making a Comfortghan for her Pastor's wife. She has to endure painful procedures to relieve pain and fluid from her back and neck after a back car accident a few years ago. So my daughter decided to make her a comforghan. She has been very blessed to receive some help from fellow 'villers with donations of squares for the 'ghan! Thank you ladies by the way! Its just so wonderful that you stepped in and are helping!
Okay... off for a coffee refill and back to working on squares and such!
you all have a wonderful evening!!!
We're off to church... lunch... store and baseball game tomorrow! I will be taking my crocheting for the car ride... but once the games start with my babies in them................. that hook gets put away! I LOVE watching them play!!!
Huge hugs... lots of love and blessings beyond your wants or needs,

Woo Hoo..................

My ChopHook arrived today... and you know I had to make something with it RIGHT AWAY! What better thing to make with my new hook than a square for my mom's Comfortghan!!!
I love my ChopHook... I love the new square I made with it... and I love Jimbo for his talent! Thank you Jimbo for creating such a lovely tool... and for getting it to me so quickly!

Now I want you to know... because I said that I got my new hook from Jimbo... that created conversation with my youngest about men crocheting. I told him stories of my daddy crocheting and how neat it was. Well... he wanted to crochet just like Grandpa. He knows how to knit.. but hadn't asked about the crocheting too much... I figured... in time! Tonight was the time. Here he is.... creating a headband for me .... after making himself a necklace. I'm very impressed with how easily he picked it up!

Thats it for my quick blog/share for the night... I have to go and crochet at least one more item with my new hook before I go to bed. hehehhehee
have a wonderful evening!!!
Thank you Jimbo... for my hook... which opened the door for my son to have interest in crocheting.
hugs... love and blessings,

A step back.............

To take a look at some more of my Duct Tape Bags. These were bags I made for Christmas Gifts last year. They were a huge hit!!! I had a request for a tote bag the other day. So.... looks like I will be getting my Duct Tape out. I will probably make a few extra bags before I put the tape away for more crocheting!

I opened an online store for my Duct Tape bags... did okay at first... then kinda slowed down. I only get an order or two here and there now. But thats okay... its all for fun anyway.

Well............. Not much of an update to my little craft blog here... but a fun sharing moment!
Have a wonderful evening......
huge hugs... lots of love and bountiful blessings,

Startin' off a new week..............

staying busy with "charity squares" I'm having so much fun trying new patterns while filling the needs of others wanting squares for Comfortghans!

This one is a 12" Sunflower.
This is a 8" Daisy type of design
Got my daughter HOOKED!
She has been helping me fill my commitments to others with Charity Squares.
This one is a Friendship Ring square.

These are 2 (6") squares she made just for fun to try the pattern. She set them aside to use for anyone that needs a 6" square. Isnt she amazing! I'm really very proud of her. She has gotten brave and reading patterns all by herself and figuring them out.
These are a few squares that have been sent off for a Comfortghan. The flower one my daughter made... the other two were from me.
Okie Dokie............ off to get laundry changed over... a fresh cup of coffee..... and get things moving along for tonight. My 12 yr old has a Baseball game tonight and my 9 & 7 yr olds have ball practice.
Have a fabulous day... and a fantastic evening.
