The Final Authority..........

I am the Lord, I change not.     ~Malachi 3:6

The world's order of things is unsure and indefinite. Desperate words of uncertainty are crying out daily from radio, television and newspapers. Everything around us seems to be in turmoil.

But, praise God, if you're a believer you have something you can depend on... the unchanging Word of God!

God has no double standard. He doesn't say one thing today and something else tomorrow. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

If you will make the Word the final authority in your life, it will give you stability when everything else around you gives way. If you'll let what God says settle the issues of life, you'll be confident when others are confused, peaceful when others are under pressure. You'll be overcoming when others are being overcome!

What does it mean to make God's Word the final authority? It means believing what He says instead of believing what people say. It means believing what He says instead of what Satan says. It means believing what He says instead of what the circumstances say.

Determine in your heart to do that today. Make up your mind to live by faith, not by sight. Fearlessly commit yourself to the authority of God's Word and there won't be anything in this unstable world that can steal your security from you.

Many Blessings to you all

Character Counts.....

Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Bobby Jones was one of the greatest golfers to ever compete, uniquely known for winning the "Grand Slam" of golf winning all four major tournaments in the U.S. and Britain in a single year. In 1925, early in his career, having reached the final playoff in the U.S. Open, at a certain point in the match, Jones was setting up to strike his ball which was in the rough just off the fairway. His iron accidentally touched the ball. He immediately became angry with himself, turned to the marshals, and called a penalty on himself.

But the marshals had not seen the ball move, so they left the decision to Jones, whether to invoke the penalty -- a two-stroke penalty. Bobby called the penalty on himself, not knowing that he would lose the tournament by a single stroke.

When praised for his honesty, he replied, "You may as well praise a man for not robbing a bank!" Jones may have lost the tournament, but his character was legendary and today the United States Golf Association's award for sportsmanship is known as the "Bobby Jones Award."

Years ago when my son Patrick was playing Baseball... Something very similar took place.  Patrick was up to bat... Hit what should have been a GrandSlam Homerun.   As the coach.. team and bleachers full of parents screamed in excitement... the bases full of boys began crossing home plate.  Patrick rounds 2nd base and about half way to 3rd goes back to 2nd... touches the base and slides safely to 3rd.   Everyone just sat stunned not understanding what just happened.  Patrick's coach stood next to him at 3rd base upset and ready to give him a good talking to...when Patrick spoke up right away and said, "Coach.. I'm sorry... but I didn't actually touch 2nd base when I came round."  Patrick would rather be known for his honest character than having a false GrandSlam on the record books.   Patrick earned a lot of respect that day from his coach... his team... the opposing coach and team and a lot of parents!   And............ they won the game 😊

It's been said, "Character is what you do when nobody is watching. Character is how you treat people who can do absolutely nothing for you. Character is how you react when the pressure is on. Character is deciding beforehand that you are going to do the right thing."

My husband lived and taught by 3 simple rules!
1) Have good Character
2) Don't leave a brother/sister behind!
3) A strong man stands up for himself... but a stronger man stands up for others!
He was an amazing man!  I hope I'm doing his memory proud!

Every day we're faced with decisions -- many of which are made when no one is watching, at least no one we can see. But let's purpose in our hearts to do the right thing -- because character truly counts. We may not see the dividends immediately -- but be assured that God is keeping track of our decisions, and He will make good on every one!

Love you all
Have a very blessed day

Take This Cup......

💕 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done. An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”                ~Luke 22:39-46

☀☕ ~ As Jesus drew closer to the cross he did what He usually did, He prayed. This was unlike any other prayer; it was the Garden prayer. He knew what He was about to endure and was very honest with His Father. “If you are willing, take this cup from me.” Jesus was very transparent there. He was also very human at that moment. If God had any other plan, He was asking for it to be implemented. There is nothing wrong with us praying like that to God. We don’t have to go into the trial with strength; we need to find His strength in the midst of the trial. Jesus finishes up his prayer by saying “Not my will, but yours be done.” Total surrender at that moment. He readied himself for the cross.

Something interesting happens at that moment, an angel came and strengthened him. This shows us that God will give us exactly what we need when we are going through the trials. Many times God will send people into our lives to strengthen and encourage us to keep going. Be thankful for that. Tell them how much it means to you. Then go back to seeking the Lord. Jesus prayed more earnestly after He was strengthened. So many times we stop when we should keep going. Sometimes those closest to you can’t be relied upon to be what you need them to be. Look to the Lord for strength and He will be faithful.

Through all the trials and struggles my family and myself are going through... this is definitely what I need to keep reminding myself of!  I read a scripture and I totally get it.   This is one of them.   Does that make it easy to do?  Not necessarily ... but it sure tugs at my heart and head!  God is with me... always!  My prayers are to Him.. for Him.. & answered by Him!  I love my Lord and trust Him completely!

Many Prayer & Blessings to you all!
