Do Not Worry...........

"Therefore do not worry, saying, ; What will we eat?' or 'What will we wear? For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ( Matthew 6:31-33)

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: the neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!" ( Luke 12:22-24)

"So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today." ( Matthew 6:34)

"And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to the span of life?" ( Luke 12:25)

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid." ( John 14:27)





Jesus says, look at the birds, look at the grass: God takes care of them. Aren't you more important than a bird? God is going to provide. Now, that doesn't mean that we don't have to work. Obviously we do. The birds have to gather all their seeds, and make their nests, and do other bird chores, whatever those are, but they don't worry about it. When was the last time you saw a worried bird, wringing its little wings in worry? You never see that. Because bird brained though they are, they seem to know more than we do, that God is going to provide for our needs, maybe not all our wants, but everything that we need. I have had several people tell me stories about being in tough financial times and wondering how they were going to make ends meet only to see, usually at the last minute, an unexpected raise, or they find their expenses were less than they thought, or they discover they didn't need as much as they thought they did. Jesus is saying we live in an economy of abundance. There's more than enough to take care of everybody: God's going to provide. Sometimes he does that directly, and sometimes he does that through other people. Many of you have heard the statistic that there is enough food in the world to feed everybody, but the reason that some people don't have enough food to eat is that some people aren't sharing what they've got, or there are wars, or bad governments, that make distribution hard. God gave us everything we need to meet everybody's needs. Our job is to distribute it. Do you know that there is $15 billion of loose change just floating around America? Talk about an economy of abundance: $15 billion sitting in people's piggy banks or behind our washers and dryers along with all the missing socks. What would happen if every Christian turned in all of their coins to go for job training for the poor? Jesus is saying we live in an economy of abundance and God will provide, either directly, or through other people.
So why do we worry?

You probably all noticed the boys all wear the #73. Thats for their grandpa (my daddy)

He was the 73rd heart transplant paitent at the hosiptal he was at. It became one of his lucky numbers. We were so very blessed to get 10 more years with him due to his new heart!!!

So the boys all carry grandpa around with them. Its definately a lucky number!

Its more than just one special day...

The other day....I overhead a lady talking, commenting how she had carefully chosen her wedding dress, the cake and the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses. I thought she had it all planned out until she exclaimed; “Now I just need someone to marry!” Apparently she had made plans for everything except the most important thing – the husband! I was surprised by her comment, but understood her desire for a fairy tale wedding. As a young girl, I also dreamed of my wedding day and remember spending hours browsing the pages of bride’s magazines.

However, once the honeymoon was over, real life happened! We had to go to work every day; pay bills; stick to budgets; do housework; repair the car; change diapers; and handle parenting issues. As a result of real life occurring, we began to complain about work; quarrel about child rearing; accuse each other of not doing their fair share; fuss over money management; and exhibit little tolerance for each other’s habits. I came to realize that all those elegant pictures in the bride’s magazines didn’t portray marriage at all - they only portrayed a picture of one special day. I had been unknowingly persuaded by the media into thinking that the primary focus was planning for a great wedding, instead of planning for a great marriage.

Our culture today seems to put more focus on that one special day than they do the years that will be spent together. On the other hand, the scriptures say almost nothing about weddings, but they do say a great deal about marriage and the importance of Christ-centeredness. God desires that we reach for His book to plan for our marriages, long before we reach for trendy magazines to plan our weddings. Although in God’s Book we won’t find any suggestions for tropical honeymoon destinations, we will find recommendations for how to love our husbands when real life happens. We won’t find fancy pictures of white gowns and flower arrangements, but we will discover pages that are filled with romantic love stories, advice for being a loving wife, and tools for building a Christ-centered relationship.

Scripture makes clear God desires marriage to be a lifetime commitment. When real life happens, however, the enemy can persuade us to think that breaking our commitment would be easier than hanging in there. God yearns for us to understand that we can find happiness and contentment in our marriage – though it may not look like the pages of the bridal magazines – if He remains our focus.

Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.”
In this verse , the word “cleave” means “to adhere to.” So, in other words, we are to hold together – through the special days and the not so special days. This isn’t always easy, but Christ can be the glue that holds us together.

Marriage is not a fairy tale wedding, it is real life. A successful marriage can’t be built from a bride’s magazine, but from God’s book. We can win the battle against the enemy who wishes to destroy our marriages, if we cling to the Bible as our instruction book for marriage. Whether you are a bride-to-be, or have been married forty years, pick up God’s Word today with excitement! Browse through the pages, searching for the beauty that a Christ-centered marriage can offer. A marriage offers so much more than one special day.

Dear Lord, please help us to honor our commitment to marriage, despite the challenges that we face. Give us the courage and strength to deal with challenging relationship issues and a passionate desire to build a strong Christ centered marriage. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

MVP Awards.........

This weekend the boys were in a Tournament. It was alot of baseball playin' for them!!!!
Medals and Trophies were handed out afterwards. One of the boys on Patricks team was given an award for MVP in a game. Patrick was given an award for MVP of the entire Tournament! What an honor!!! Way to go boys!!!

Living Sacrifices to God

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Behave Like a Christian

More Prayers needed...........

for my little Super Hero Michael and the family!
He caught a cold over the last couple weeks and he was showing outward signs of a possible relapse. Ken took him in for blood work and tests results confirmed a relapse. He's back on prednizone. Edema isn't bad.. but there.

Any and all prayers for Michael would be very much appreciated!!!

Prayers for my family...............

as we mourn the loss of my dear sweet Aunt Lorriane. She passed away Sunday morning ~ 30 May 2010 ...after her courageous battle with cancer. She was a beautiful 70 year old woman that gave so much of herself to others. She loved her crafts and her family!

I love you Aunt Lorriane.......... I wish we could have been in better contact!

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ~Matthew 11:25-30
