30 days of thanks..... day #29

Thank you Lord for you strength!!

God isn’t only with us when our faith comes easy and our praise is unrestrained.  Even in the day of trouble... God knows intimately those who trust him... and he is a stronghold for them!
Not only in catastrophe... but even in our moments of hidden weakness... God is our strength and our refuge! We can trust him and know that he is always good!

* Thank you.. Lord.. that you are a source of strength for me even in my weakest moments!  You remember my trust in you when I feel close to losing my faith.  You do not forget me.. and you are more than enough for me.  You take my darkest hour and bring the light of your countenance to me. ~Amen.

30 days of thanks..... day #28

Thanksgiving Day
2019

Mom and I had the kitchen expanded!
It’s not quite finished.......but we’re thrilled with what we have so far... just in time for thanksgiving.

New coffee/wine bar
(The center area will have diamond wine slots for bottles)

A look at the whole thing from a distance

 The buffet
(Upper cabinets are still being built)

The empty seat at the table!πŸ’”
πŸ’•Happy Thanksgiving in Heaven Daddy and Ken!πŸ’•

Tables are set... ready for family to arrive.

Dear Lord,
As we gather together around this table
laden with your plentiful gifts to us,
we thank You for always providing
what we really need
and for sometimes granting wishes
for things we don't really need.
Today, let us be especially thankful
for each other--for family and friends
who enrich our lives in wonderful ways,
even when they present us with challenges.
Let us join together now
in peaceful, loving fellowship
to celebrate Your love for us
and our love for each other. Amen

30 days of thanks....... day #26

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus,” wrote a man who had known more than his fair share of difficulties.  His name? We know him as Paul, the Apostle of Jesus Christ. In one sentence Paul gives us the key to unlocking the door to a relationship of blessedness and gratitude.  He is saying in simple terms that thanksgiving is not a holiday to be celebrated but an attitude of your heart to be daily observed because no matter how difficult the circumstances of your life—whether you be in a hospital bed or enjoying health, wealth, and happiness—God is in control.
Thanksgiving didn’t begin with the pilgrims in 1621 when Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of thanksgiving and feasting, remembering that God had turned drought to rain that brought a simple harvest. Some 1400 years before, Paul instructed the Thessalonians to be thankful.  Jews were instructed to celebrate deliverance from Egypt—a custom still observed in the Feast of the Tabernacle or Sukkot. When the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt, Nehemiah instructed the people to stop working and celebrate a season of thanksgiving.
No matter where you live on planet Earth, every day should be a day of thanksgiving. For what should you be thankful? Don’t limit your gratitude to my list, but may I mention some of the things for which I give thanks.

First, I give thanks for the assurance that I am God’s child, that He has forgiven me and brought me into the Kingdom of His dear Son—not because I deserved it but because of the Father’s great love for me.

Then I am thankful for my family and friends. I must tell you that God has so graciously touched my life with His favor. Yes, I’m thankful not only for His grace that meets me at the point of my weakness, but, honestly, I’m thankful as well for what hasn’t happened.
I also thank God for the bumps in the road, challenges that bring me face to face with my weakness and cause me to cry out for God’s help and provision that comes in such a way, I know He has provided—as opposed to something just happening. I’m convinced that what He has withheld, I haven’t needed, and what He has given me is a stewardship to be used wisely for His work.
I’m thankful that in a world of turmoil, our great God will allow nothing to happen that escapes His attention or ability to prevent. That’s why Paul wrote, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

30 days of thanks...... day #25

πŸŒ€
☕ So very thankful for prayer!!   Prayer is an awesome way to communicate with our Lord God!  It's such a wonderful feeling to be on the receiving end of prayer....knowing that you have folks that care enough about you and your issue to take time to speak to God on your behalf is just amazing!  It's the peace that helps me get through it no matter what Gods plan is!
So today I pray for some very dear friends with some very real issues in their lives!  I want them to know that I care!  I want them to have peace that God is there with them!  That they will get through this no matter what ... and for my family!   Gods has a plan for their lives!
Love you!!!πŸ’•

30 days of thanks..... day #24

Being Thankful through trials…… You may have heard it a hundred times, but this time let it soak in and really permeate your faith. God works for our good in ALL things. Not just some of them, or just the good things. He works in ALL of them. This is one of our greatest promises and something to truly be thankful for.

~*~Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.~*~

30 days of thanks..... day #23

Thankful God said NO
I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, “No”.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, “No”.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, “No”.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, “No”.
I give you blessings; happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, “No”.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, “No”.
You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy in life.
God said, “No”.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others as much as He loves me.
God said……
Ahhhhhh, finally you have the idea ♥
