Due to a very crazy/busy end of this year........... I seriously neglected my blog.

Make the rough times easier............................
Our original Halloween plans obviously were cancelled due to Ken being in the hospital. So to keep the season fun for the boys they spent Halloween evening hanging out at one of the 'Baseball moms' house. David in the back there (Batman) is checkin' out the cool jack-o-lanterns. Michael is enjoying a nice seat in front of the firepit... munching on some of the Great food that was provided! Patrick is playing catch with a football behind me with a bunch of friends.

Here is David enjoying a yummy Burger at another one of our great 'Baseball families' house.

Satan keeps pushin'... and we keep fightin'......

Poor little Michael took the news of his daddy being sick the hardest. ]About a week after Ken was in the hospital .... Michael became emotionally weak inside... which made him physically weak. Satan was able to get ahold of him and set him into a relapse. :(
Ken only spent time in his hospital bed to sleep. It was a way of helping him not "Be Sick" so Michael would take advantage of the free bed when were there visiting.

Enjoying his jar of *Magic Skittles* given to him by one of the wonderful 'Baseball moms' that have been taking such good care of our family during this ride.

God is so good....................

October 24th................. getting set free from the IV pump! The first round of chemo...... DONE!
As of right now the leukemia is all cleared from Ken's blood. Now starts the waiting period to Saturday.... where they will take a bone marrow biopsy and check to see if the chemo cleared the leukemia from his marrow.

A Family Fight................

On October 15th .. hubby was admitted to the hospital diagnosed with Leukemia. That's when the fight began. The fight against Satan was going to be one heck of a ride... but with God and our love and faith... and family and friends....we will make it through!!!

The type of Leukemia that Ken has is called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)
He didnt catch it from someone or cause it by smoking, drinking or any other behavior or environmental reason, he just got it. Its a cancer of the blood that causes the normal white blood cells in your blood to be destructive rather than protective.
He underwent a Bone marrow draw, ct scan and a set of ports put in my chest for administrating medicine. (chemotherapy)

Ken's Mom and Dad came out to be with him through the first week...............

Even the smallest grandbabies came to show their love and support! They sure do put a smile on ones face ............. :)

Today Patrick has an appointment for an MRI on his wrist to make sure there is absolutely nothing wrong with it from the great tackle attempt a couple weeks ago.

Michael will go for a blood draw today .... as we fear he has gone into a relapse.

Prayers for good news for both would be very much appreciated!!!

Pancake Man.......................

comes to Conestoga School for fundraising and fun.
One of the "Baseball Moms" took the boys to the pancake feed at school for me while I stayed with Ken. I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad they went! They had fun!
This guy was fun... tossing pancakes in the air... throwing them out for the kids to catch...

Thats alot of Pancakes!!!!

Parents Night...........

Due to the situation with Ken............... We missed Parents Night.
You know... it was a bit of a bummer to miss it............... but we sure are praisin' God that we have a night with Ken instead!!!!
We're all settling in with the news ... and turning completely to God for guidance .... and trusting Him for healing!

In the mist of this... Patrick has hurt his left hand/wrist.... from an awesome tackle attempt. Had a doc appointment a couple days ago... couldn't make a positive call on a fracture or not... so we have another appointment set up for the 25th for another X-Ray. He's in a brace for now.. which is doing a good job keeping it stable and protected. *whew*

Well... off to get some things done... and tend to my family!

For my Family................ as we mourn the loss of my cousin Tricia.

She passed away yesterday.... She was a beautifully young 40 year old woman who lost her battle to cancer....leaving a husband and son to miss her a great deal!

Love you Tricia!!!! Miss you!!!

Forgot to share this back during Homecoming week..................
From my Candy Wrapping part of my crafts... I created this CandyBar Invitation for Patrick to ask K to the Homecoming dance.

This set is a regular Hershey bar wrapped as the invitation part ... the other two small ones are Hershey mini's wrapped as the return answers.

I placed the set in a cello bag tied shut with a pretty ribbon. Patrick gave it to K. She then (Thank Goodness) :) gave him back the "YES" bar later that day! *whew*

This makes it easy for the guys! And if by some sad chance they get the "NO" bar back... at least they can drown their sorrows in the chocolate. :)
